Cooperation with KIMEP University in Kazakhstan

Dr. Iryna Shalaginova, Head of the International Relations office of the University of Koblenz-Landau and Maurice Zimmermann, responsible for ERASMUS + programs, visited the KIMEP University in Almaty, Kazakhstan. The KIMEP University is a private, state-accredited university offering all courses in English. It enables good exchange opportunities for students and lecturers in the subjects of English studies, social sciences, information management and economics. Since the beginning of the year, this university has been a partner of the University of Koblenz-Landau in the framework of the EU mobility program "Erasmus+".

In the course of the visit the delegation discussed funding opportunities for the exchange of students and lecturers from both universities and perspectives for establishing training courses for lecturers. Dr. Shalaginova was particularly impressed by the support provided to domestic and international students: "There is a strong culture of welcome at KIMEP University. From the administrative staff fluent in English, be it in the student secretariat or dorm administration, to buddy programs and study tutors that provide good supervision during studies and integration at the university, to the medical center on campus with English speaking staff, which offers free medical care, here you have everything that an international student might want“.

KIMEP University's Bang College of Business is keen to establish joint Master's degrees for the education of professionals and executives. These ideas will be further discussed during the visit of the Dean of the College in May on Campus Koblenz.
