MSc Lecture/Exercise Business Process Management

+++ The first lecture is a joint lecture with Business Software, Tuesday 9th of April, 14 Uhr in M201 +++

The lecture is on conceptual, formal, and technical aspects of Business Process Management. It strongly focuses on non-managerial aspects. The lecture is built around the business process lifecycle, which describes how business processes can be designed, implemented, customized, executed, monitored, analyzed, evaluated, and, in turn, re-designed. We will introduce concepts and methodologies that support individual stages of the process lifecycle. The lecture will be a mixture of classic presentations, discussions, creative work and practical work with BPM tools.

BPM will be entirely held in English. However, in case the course consists of German-speaking students only, we will switch to German.

How to get Credits

You will get 6 ECTS through passing the final written examination. In the exercises, we will dispose you for the exam through applying the concepts introduced in the lecture. Furthermore, you will have the possibility to gain extra points for the exam.

Please note that you have to pass an inaugural short examination to get access to the course. We have to do this because in past semesters several students joined our courses who came with different expectations and different presumed knowledge, and who had problems to follow the courses later on. If you hold a Bachelor’s Degree from the School of Computer Science of the University of Koblenz-Landau (FB4), then you DO NOT NEED TO ATTEND THE INAUGURAL EXAM. The exam will be conducted on the first exercise date, which is Thursday, 2019-11-04 at 14h in Room G 409.
