Titel: Wireless Ultra-Reliable Low-Latency Communication with Cellular Technologies in an Industrial Context

 

Zusammenfassung:

With the rise of mobility and flexibility on the factory floor new challenges emerge. Especially the requirements on wireless communication rise and current technologies are not able to fulfil these requirements. Thus, it is of high interest if 5G is able to fulfil those new requirements and how to integrate 5G in current factory set-ups. The most typical use case thereby is the usage of autonomous guided vehicles (AGVs).
While the research on new applications of AGVs on the factory floor is ongoing, the outcomes are transferred on the usage of AGVs for parcel deliveries in an urban environment. The usage of AGVs for parcel deliveries has the advantage of reducing congestion and being locally emission-free. In combination with mechatronic post-boxes parcels can be delivered at any time.
Within this thesis, the usage of cellular technologies on the factory floor and urban logistics is evaluated. Within the presentation the current and future research is presented. This includes an empirical evaluation on the usage of private LTE on the factory floor, the usage of different communication technologies on the factory floor and the influence of different wireless technologies on a distributed AGV control.
