Angewandte Umweltwissenschaften (M.Sc.)
The Master’s degree program in Angewandte Umweltwissenschaft is designed as an extra-occupational distance learning program. It is intended for personnel working for authorities, associations, industry, consulting agencies and engineering firms. Potential applicants include in particular natural scientists and engineers, but also graduates from other disciplines and qualified persons with professional training in the field of the natural sciences or technology (e.g. technicians, laboratory assistants, industrial specialists) insofar as they have appropriate professional experience.
The aim of the degree program is the acquisition of specialized knowledge and skills in subject areas of relevance to the environment, natural sciences, technology, legislation and business management to enable application-oriented working in the field of the environment. The distance learning program enables experts and executives in the environmental sector to develop an inter-disciplinary view of environmental problems and related issues and promotes analytical thinking and conceptual approaches.
Graduates of the program have access to a broad range of professional positions with the public services (environmental authorities, research institutes), the services sector (planning and consulting, private research institutes), industrial enterprises (technical environmental protection, environmental management, EHS management, environmental communication, etc.) and associations (trade associations, industry associations, environmental associations).
