Kulturwissenschaft (Master of Arts)

Varied and research-oriented: The Master’s degree program in Kulturwissenschaft builds on the Bachelor’s degree program but also addresses prospective students from neighboring specialized areas. Like the Bachelor’s degree program, the Master’s degree program in Kulturwissenschaft is interdisciplinary in design and enables targeted profile development with regard to content. Students can choose from four different areas of specialization that focus on different disciplines and professions (see program content).

The profile of this Master’s degree in Kulturwissenschaft is unique in Germany and is based on three fundamental cornerstones: innovative courses, an unusual variety of disciplines and an innovative concept of supervision similar to that of a graduate school.

The research-oriented Master’s degree program conveys academic and professional skills for a wide range of purposes and prepares students to study for further university qualifications (doctorate). Graduates seeking positions in business, cultural management, journalism, etc., instead of pursuing an academic career, can acquire a broad range of methodical skills to become competent in many different areas and therefore very appealing to employers.
