University of Koblenz-Landau
Welcome to the University of Koblenz-Landau
The University of Koblenz-Landau is one of the youngest universities in Germany and has in its short history expanded immensely. Since its transformation from a teachers college in 1990, new departments and institutes have sprung up, new degrees and chairs created and existing courses and research expanded. The scientific profile shows a wide variety: in eight faculties on the two campuses Koblenz and Landau, you can study Educational Sciences, Humanities, Social Sciences, Natural Sciences, Informatics (only Koblenz) and Psychology (only Landau). Since 1990 the number of students has more than doubled to about 15.000 enrolled students, with approximately 7.500 at each campus.
A special feature of the University of Koblenz-Landau is its structure. Koblenz and Landau provide the facilities for research, teaching and continuing education, while Mainz serves as the organizing link between the two campuses, housing the President`s office as well as the home of the university executive and central university administration.
