1. What is uni-assist?

Uni-assist stands for "University Application Services for International Students". Uni-assist reviews on behalf of University of Koblenz-Landau concerning the university standards whether your application meets the formal requirements and informs you about the result.


2. Who has to apply for admission at University of Koblenz-Landau via uni-assist?

University of Koblenz-Landau has all applications (Bachelor- and Master-Programs) of international students who acquired their university entrance level certifications or academic degrees abroad pre-checked by UNI-ASSIST, the "Application Services for International Students".


3. How do I apply via uni-assist?

University of Koblenz-Landau offers a wide range of study programs. Please see the link for detailed information concerning study programs.

Uni-Assist charges a fee for examining your documents. Information on payment and bank acoount details can be found here.
 

Please apply via uni-assist online portal for applicants! 

Register in the uni-assist online portal, create your application form and submit it electronically to uni-assist. Then print the application form, sign it and send it together with the required documents by mail to uni-assist. You have to send in paper documents in addition to the online form. Please state your e-mail address for requests.

Please do not send original certificates, only certified copies. Standards regarding official authentification of documents and sworn translations, for more information check the uni-assist website with information available in German, English and other languages.
 


3.1. Application for Bachelor- & Master-Programs (taught in German)

Uni-assist needs the following documents of all applicants to review the formal requirements:

  • completed, printed and signed online-application form from uni-assist online portal for applicants
    [Exception: In case you can not use the uni-assist online portal for applicants, please send the completed, printed and signed application form ("Antrag auf Zulassung").]
  • officialy certified copy of the secondary-school leaving certificate or, if available, a
    university entrance exam
  • officialy certified copy of the certificate of your academic degree and academic transcripts regarding previous studies at a university
  • applicants from China, Mongolia and Vietnam: APS certificate (Academic
    Examination Office) in original.
  • officialy certified copy of proof of sufficient knowledge of German (e.g. TestDaF 4xTDN 4)
  • proof of payment or transfer of uni-assist fee
  • copy of your passport (page showing name and photograph).

3.2. Application for Master-Programs (taught in English)

University of Koblenz-Landau offers two Master-Programs taught in English.

Admission requirements, application deadlines and further information (language proficiency) can be found in the abstracts of each program:

 

Uni-assist needs the following documents of all applicants to review the formal requirements:

  • officialy certified copy of the secondary-school leaving certificate or, if available, a
    university entrance exam
  • officialy certified copy of the certificate of your academic degree and academic transcripts regarding previous studies at a university
  • officialy certified copy of proof of sufficient knowledge of English (refers to your chosen Master-Program)
  • proof of payment or transfer of uni-assist fee
  • copy of your passport (page showing name and photograph).
     

4. Application deadlines

  • July 15 for the winter semester
  • January 15 for the summer semester.

Excpetions:

  • The application for the degree programs Informatik, Computervisualistik, Informationsmanagement, Wirtschaftsinformatik, E-Government, Web Science (taught in English) is possible until September 30 (for the winter semester) and March 31 (for the summer semester).
  • The application for the Master-Program Psychology (for the winter semester) is only possible until May 15.

Please note: Only the “received date” of the application of admission at uni-assist is decisive (not the postmark); applications via fax or e-mail are not accepted. Applications that are received by mail after the deadline will be rejected due to exceeding the deadline.


 5. Language requirements

German skills for Bachelor- & Master-Programs taught in German

German language skills on a high level are an essential precondition for studying., so a proof of completion of one of the following examination is required:

  • TestDaF with at least the grade of 4 in all four parts (4xTDN4)
  • "Deutsche Sprachprüfung für den Hochschulzugang" DSH-2,
  • "Deutsches Sprachdiplom der KMK Stufe 2" (DSD II),
  • Prüfungsteil Deutsch der Feststellungsprüfung an Studienkollegs oder
  • Goethe-Zertifikat C2: Großes Deutsches Sprachdiplom (GDS)

Before you can be admitted to the University of Koblenz-Landau first you have to pass one of these examinations. The TestDaf is carried out worldwide: www.testdaf.de

No German test is required from applicants for Master-Programs taught in English.
