Exchange with partner universities (outside Europe)
Students from partner universities who have been nominated by their home university as exchange student, are eligible to study at the University of Koblenz-Landau and are offered a number of privileges such as:
• exemption from paying tuition fees
• German language course
• orientation program before beginning of lecture period
• excursions and other student activities

Application
Exchange students are nominated by the co-ordinator of their home university.
Application documents:
• Application form (to be filled in, printed and sent to the International Office at Koblenz campus respectively Landau campus)
• Nomination by your Home University
• Study plan (changes are possible upon arrival)
• Copy of Passport or National Identity Card
Application deadline for winter semester: Mai 31.
Application deadline for summer semester: November 30.
If your application has been successfull we will send a letter pf acceptance with further information.
Academic calendar
The academic year is divided into two semesters: winter semester (October - March) and summer semester (April - September).
Lecture period: middle of October - middle/end of February and middle of April - end of July.
Exams/semester break: End of February/March and August/September.
Orientation meetings are held at each campus before lectures start.

Registration takes place at Koblenz campus respectively Landau campus.
Students from official exchange programs are exempted from tuition (Studiengebüren). However, you have to pay a so-called "Sozialbeitrag" (social contribution) of currently € 100 which is levied upon all students. This contribution is collected by the University and contributed towards the social institution and services of the University and includes a public transport ticket. The amount has to be paid by bank transfer, this is done after your arrival.
Accomodation
Student residences are administered by independent organizations which are affiliated with but independend off the University.
The International Office works with these organizations to reserve rooms for exchange students.
