York Sure elected as President of GESIS

On Friday Dec 4, 2009, the board of GESIS - Leibniz Institute for Social Sciences - elected Prof. Dr. York Sure as president of the institute.

Sure took over his position as director of the GESIS department ``Information processes in the social sciences'' from now Prof. emeritus Jürgen Krause and became professor at the WeST institute of the University Koblenz-Landau both in May 2009.

Following  Prof. Dr. Hans Rattinger, who returns to the University of Mannheim the computer scientist Sure, a former SAP research manager, can use his experience in leading interdisciplinary teams and push the collaboration of social sciences and applied computer science.

With 240 researchers GESIS is the largest social science research institution in Germany.
