The amount of user-generated content in the Web such as pictures, videos, comments, blog postings, and articles in knowledge platforms like Wikipedia rapidly increased over the last years. Current technologies and applications do not provide a sufficient support for an intelligent processing and management of the content. This situation even more exacerbates in the mobile context, where device limitations such as the amount of information that can be presented and interaction possibilities of the users with the device hinder a proper communication of such knowledge.

This thesis aims at developing a user interface design concept for the mobile, facetted exploration of user-generated content such as Flickr, DBpedia (a semantic version of Wikipedia), and Linked Geo Data. Different facets like interests, events, seasons, and others allow to reduce the complexity of the information presented on the mobile phone. The design concept will be implemented as a mobile application on a Google Android-based cell phone.
