Die Vorlesung "Business Software" wird im Sommersemester 2010 von Prof. Susan P. Williams gehalten. Daher werden sowohl die Folien als auch die Vorlesung selbst in Englisch sein!

Please note:

In the summer semester 2010 the lecture "Business Software" will be held by Prof. Susan P. Williams. All slides and presentations will be in English!

1. Vorlesung (Background of the Course)

The course is designed around a model of experiential and collaborative learning. Students will critique, experiment with and evaluate the discussed concepts, methods and techniques in mini workshops and apply them in a case study project. They will be put in the role of an innovative business manager working on an IS-enabled business innovation and will identify challenges, prepare alternative designs and create feasible solutions in class.

The assignment project (exam) will be based on weekly design activities building into a design portfolio and a critical reflective review. Building on the weekly readings and learning activities students will prepare a project report. This will include their individual reflections on the purpose, applicability, strengths and limitations of the different methods and frameworks covered in the course.

Students will all work on the same case study that will enable them to apply and reflect on the contents of the course. We encourage them to work together in class and then finalise their own solution in their personal study time.

Prüfung (Exam)

The exam is a written paper (assignment project). The paper needs to be written in English. Deadline for submission is Friday 29.07.2010 17:00. More detailed information about the assignment task will be handed out at the beginning of the semester.

2. Übung

Zeit/Raum

Die Übung findet zu den vereinbarten Terminen in Raum A 310 statt.

Beginn

Am 20.04.2010 findet die erste Übungsveranstaltung statt (Einführungsveranstaltung).

Teilnehmer

Studierende im Master-Studiengang (vergleiche Modulhandbuch: s.o.).

Voraussetzungen

- BSCW-Zugang (kann, falls nicht vorhanden, beantragt werden)

- Teilnahme an der Vorlesung BS

Leistungsnachweis

Um die Prüfungszulassung zu erhalten ist ein erfolgreiches Abschließen der Übung nötig. Für das erfolgreiche Bestehen der Übung wird Folgendes vorausgesetzt:

Es herrscht Anwesenheitspflicht. Beim zweiten Fehlen, ist die Übung vorzeitig mit "nicht bestanden" abgeschlossen.

Halten einer Präsentation (ca. 15 Minuten) zu einem für die Übung relevanten Thema (wird noch bekannt gegeben).

Die Noten dieses Moduls ergeben sich aus den Ergebnissen der Klausur.

Semesterplanung

In der Übung wird das ERP-System Microsoft Navision vorgestellt, mit dem verschiedene betriebliche Szenarien exemplarisch durchgespielt werden.

Wichtig: Für alle Interessenten der Summer Academy

Diese Übung dient als ergänzende Übungsveranstaltung für die Vorlesung "Integrated Business Design" in der diesjährigen Summer Academy. Beide erfolgreich besuchten Lehrveranstaltungen (Vorlesung "Integrated Business Design" und Übung "Business Software") entsprechen dem Master-Modul "Business Software". Sie müssen diese Übung absolvieren, um sich die Vorlesung "Integrated Business Design" innerhalb des eben beschriebenen Moduls "Business Software" (WIPS02) anrechnen zu lassen!

Important: For all potential participants of this year's Summer Academy (Koblenz students only)

The course "Integrated Business Design" is complemented by an exercise (exercise “Business Software”) which takes place in the summer semester 2010 (3 credit points). Together, these two courses form the master module “Business Software”. The exercise has to be successfully attended. There is no possibility for any alternative work to pass the full module. Students have to attend the exercise (no exceptions).

Liste mit Vortragsthemen (je 15 Minuten)

Bei Doppelvorträgen beträgt die Vortragszeit ca. 30 Minuten. Die Liste mit den Themen wird noch bekannt gegeben.
