Web Science

As the the first university in Germany the University of Koblenz-Landau offers a master´s program in Web science, starting in October 2012.

The master´s program is conducted in English language. It puts a strong emphasis on computer science in order to get foundational knowledge on the structure of the Web and on techniques for analyzing the Web and changes on the Web. For the analysis of the Web, interdisciplinary research is necessary in order to understand users, their behavior and interaction with other users on the Web. Thus, a holistic consideration of the Web requires theoretical and methodological knowledge transfer from mathematics, psychology, political science, studies of the law and economics.
