Scientific Café – German Vocabulary to Survive on Campus

A Digital Event for PhD Candidates and Postdocs

Wimpel Englisch VertikalThe Scientific Café offers PhD candidates and postdocs of the University of Koblenz-Landau the opportunity to present their research and talk about their ideas and questions in a peer group. The event intends to encourage the exchange with other researchers and PhD candidates and aims to improve different academic skills.

The topic of this session will be an introduction into the basic German vocabulary you need to survive on campus and to deal with the administration during your PhD and after. This part will be followed by practical exercises in various constructed situations. Additionally, other topics like small talks and communication in academia will be discussed in the group.

This event aims to reduce the language barrier for you and to contribute to your better orientation at the University of Koblenz-Landau. For sharing the knowledge and tighter networking, German speaking young scientists are also invited to participate in this event and contribute to the language guide.

An event of STIBET funded by the DAAD with financial means of the German Federal Foreign Office
