Summer Course in English Phonetics (SCEP): August 10-21, 2020

Do you want to improve or master your understanding of English pronunciation? If yes, go and study English pronunciation at SCEP in London, England! For two exciting weeks, you can brush up your knowledge of the theoretical side of phonetics and bring yourself up-to-date on new developments. Moreover, you will have the opportunity to do some ear-training and listening practice under the guidance of specialist tutors.

It is my intention to hold a general information session at the end of WS 2019/20. Should you already be interested in this exciting programme and would like to know more about it, check out SCEP's website address. Information on course fees, accommodation, course topics, etc. is also available from this website:

Please feel free to stop by one of my office hours if you would like to know more about this programme.

The Grammar Workshops: A Great Opportunity to Improve Your English

Summer Semester 2018 was the last time the Grammar Workshops were offered. Over the years, many highly motivated English students whose passion for grammar as well as a keen interest in the subtleties and nuances of the language itself came together in these workshops. Not only were engaging discussions on various grammar topics held but there was also the possibility to polish up one's usage of English.

A big THANK YOU must be given to all of our workshop leaders. I thank them for both their time and engagement. Without you, the Grammar Workshops would not have been such a great success. In alphabetical order, I would like to thank:

Christoph Apel

Tristan Dingendorf

Julia Dötsch

Daniel Hennes

Damaris Hogenkampf

Melanie Retz
