Entry Requirements

  1. Be a native speaker of English or acheive an English Language qualification equivalent to IELTS 6.5 (7.0 for Law)
  2. Complete at least one year of university study
  3. Achieve a grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.0 or equivalent
  4. Demonstrate a particular interest or background in the subject chosen

 

Application Process

If you are applying as an exchange student within the Erasmus Programme, your university will have to nominate you before you can actually start your application process. Once this is complete, the Study Abroad team at Birmingham will contact you via the provided email and invite you to apply online at www.birmingham.ac.uk/myglobalstory.

 

Application for the Erasmus Exchange with the University of Birmingham, UK

Academic Year: September 2018 - December 2019/July2019

In order to apply for the Erasmus Exchange for this academic year, please submit the following:

 1. Cover letter addressed to Prof. Dr. Constanze Juchem-Grundmann stating:

- why you should be chosen for the exchange
- why you would like to study in Birmingham
- which courses you would like to take there (see: https://www.birmingham.ac.uk/undergraduate/courses/index.aspx)

2. CV

- contact details (name, address, email, phone number)
- name of faculty member for reference

3. List of all the courses that you have already successfully completed (roster from KLIPS with grades) and will probably have completed before you leave in August/September

4. The official ERASMUS application (download from website of International Office)

5. Application Deadline: January 23, 2018

 

After Your Stay Abroad

We need to finalise the recognition of your courses for your degree and for the Erasmus+ funding. Please bring the following forms and fill in as much as you can where necessary:

- your learning agreement

- transcript

- exams or copies of the exams if you want to keep them

- cover sheets for the modules you need

- the Erasmus certificate of recognition

 

Online application process after your initial ERASMUS application:

When applying online, you will need to upload the following supporting documents:

  • One academic reference
  • A copy of an official transcript showing the courses studied at your home institution and your grades
  • A copy of your passport/ID photo page
  • Evidence of your English Language qualification (if applicable)
