Laufende Projekte:

Insekten stellen die mit Abstand artenreichste Gruppe aller Lebewesen dar, gehen jedoch derzeit insbesondere in Agrar-Ökosystemen drastisch zurück. Bei herbivoren Insekten sind nicht nur die direkten Auswirkungen von Umweltveränderungen relevant sondern auch indirekte Effekte, die über die Qualität der larvalen Futterpflanzen vermittelt werden. Es sollen die indirekten Auswirkungen von veränderten Temperaturbedingungen (Klimawandel) sowie Landnutzungspraktiken (Düngung) auf ausgewählte herbivore Insektenarten untersucht werden.
Das Zeitalter des ‚Anthropozäns' ist durch einen umfassenden Einfluss des Menschen auf seine Umwelt geprägt. In diesem Zusammenhang prominent diskutierte Themen sind zum Beispiel Klima- und Landnutzungswandel, Umweltverschmutzung und Eutrophierung sowie der dramatische Verlust der Artenvielfalt. Die Erforschung und Bewertung des anthropogenen Einflusses auf Ökosysteme stellt eine vordringliche gesamtgesellschaftliche Aufgabe dar. Die Forschungsinitiative bearbeitet in diesem Kontext zum einen die Auswirkungen von Temperaturveränderungen und Eutrophierung, welche anthropogene Stressoren herausragender Bedeutung darstellen. Zum anderen wird das Schadpotential von Mikroplastikpartikeln in aquatischen Ökosystemen untersucht, welche ein ökotoxikologisches Risiko darstellen. Ziel der betreffenden Projekte ist die Erarbeitungen von Vorschlägen zum Risikomanagement von Mikroplastik.
