Dr. Dirk Homscheid
Dirk Homscheid worked from 2002 until 2006 for the Julius Fröbus GmbH, Cologne, a medium-sized agency for print and online media as Software Developer. After that, he also gained one year of work experience as IT Consultant.
In 2007 he decided to study Business Information Systems at the University of Applied Sciences Bonn-Rhein-Sieg, St. Augustin. During his undergraduate studies Dirk completed a semester abroad. From mid to end of 2009 he studied at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) in Brisbane, Australia. For the successful completion of all of his courses he was awarded with the Deputy Vice Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Study Abroad [1]. Afterwards he worked as an intern at Deutsche Post DHL, Bonn. In his Bachelor thesis Dirk analysed the accuracy of data collection procedures for the determination of CO2 transport emissions from subcontractors for Deutsche Post DHL.
In 2011 he started with the consecutive Master of Science program in Information Management at the University of Koblenz-Landau, Koblenz. In his Master thesis he analysed the relationship of several factors on the innovative work behaviour of Facebook, Apple iOS and Android app developers.
After graduating with a Master of Science degree Dirk joined the Institute for Web Science and Technologies [2] and the Institute for Management of the University of Koblenz-Landau in September 2013.
His current research areas are social capital in Open Source software communities as well as application developer engagement in mobile platforms.
