About the University of Hong Kong:
Hong Kong (“Fragrant Harbour") is a city on the southern coast of China. It is well known for its expansive skyline and its extreme population density. The current population of Hong Kong comprises 93.6% ethnic Chinese. Founded in 1911, the University of Hong Kong is the oldest tertiary institution in Hong Kong. At present it accommodates more than 21,500 students, distributed across 10 faculties including the Faculty of Arts, the Faculty of Education and the Faculty of the Social Sciences. The university's main campus covers 160,000 square metres of land on Hong Kong Island. The motto of the university is "Sapientia et Virtus", meaning 'wisdom and virtue'. In 2010, the University of Hong Kong was ranked 23rd in the QS World University Rankings and 1st in their Asian University Rankings. The official language of instruction is English.

How to apply:
Applications should include
(i) a cover sheet (please download here),
(ii) a CV (Lebenslauf) in English or German with a passport photograph,
(iii) a letter of motivation in English explaining why you are applying for this particular university and which courses you are intending to take during your semester abroad, and
(iv) a printout of your academic transcript (Bescheinigung über bisher erbrachte Studienleistungen in allen Fächern) from KLIPS
The application deadline (usually mid-January) will be announced during our international evening in December, where all the exchange programmes are introduced and options for funding are presented.
