Lebenslauf

Julia Renner obtained her History and Political Science Bachelor Degree at the University of Bamberg with a year abroad at the National University of Ireland. Afterwards she completed a Double Master of Arts Program in Peace and Conflict Studies at the University of Kent, Canterbury and the Philipps University of Marburg. During both her degrees, Julia gained practical experiences e.g. at a college in Taipei, at the European Union in Brussels or at the U.S. State Department. Since April 2017, Julia works as a lecturer and research fellow at the Institute for Political Science in the Department for International Relations at the University of Koblenz-Landau. She pursues her PhD research on the topic of water shortages and its impacts on innerstate conflicts over water bodies in the Eastern African Community. Since November 2017, she holds a position as an associate fellow at the Peace Academy Rhineland-Palatinate and at the research group Land-use Conflicts at the Institute for Environmental Sciences at the University of Koblenz-Landau. Moreover she is a member of the German Association for Peace and Conflict Studies and holds a speaker position at the working group “Young Researchers at the AFK”.
