 Topics

  • Effects of the biota on the biochemistry of rhizosphere from decidous tree species and the function of the rhizosphere as a carbon sink.
  • Influence of earthworms (Lumbricus terrestris, Aporrectodea caliginosa) on the temporal dynamics of greenhouse gas fluxes.
  • Greenhouse gas fluxes in soils and gaschromatography
  • Tibetan plateau and the water balance and the carbon cycle especially CO2 fluxes of the Kobresia ecosystem. Additionally the ecology of the plateau pika (Ochotona curzoniae) and their influence on the C and N availability in soils.
  • Climatology
  • Geomorphology
  • Glacial morphology (Himalaya, Tibet, Alps and Karakorum)
  • Zoogeography
