Zusammenfassung

Das Projekt SOIL-H-Relax baut auf den Erkenntnissen der Projekte HUMUS-H-Relax I und II auf. Ziel dieses abschließenden Projektes es, Prozesse der Bildung und Stabilisierung von Aggregatstrukturen durch Mikrogele im Boden zu verstehen. Die in den ersten Projektphasen gewonnenen Erkenntnisse und Methoden zur Quellung der organischen Substanz werden nun auf mineralische humose Bodenproben übertragen. In natürlichen Aggregaten und Modellaggregaten unterschiedlicher Zusammensetzung, Textur und unterschiedlichen Quellungszustandes wird die Natur und Stärke der Partikelverkittung untersucht. Die künstlichen Modellaggregate enthalten unter anderem Biopolymere mit unterschiedlichen strukturellen Eigenschaften und Quellbarkeit.

 

The project SOIL-H Relax aims to identify and understand the still currently unknown contribution of swollen hydrogel phases to the development and stabilization of aggregated structures in soil. For this, developed techniques and gained experiences on the swelling of organic substances from previous project phases are transferred to humus-rich, natural and artificial mineral soils. Further, we investigate the nature and strength of particle cementation in dependence on soil texture, hydrogel swelling and environmental dynamics.
