The Institute for Computer Science is one of several institutes within the Department of Computer Science. The professors heading the institute are (Prof. Dr. Jürgen Ebert, Prof. Dr. Hannes Frey, Prof. Dr. Ulrich Furbach, Prof. Dr. Ralf Lämmel, Prof. Dr. Viorica Sofronie-Stokkermans, Prof. Dr. Steffen Staab and Prof. Dr. Dieter Zöbel).
Prof. Dr. Ebert and Prof. Dr. Zöbel are additionally head of the Institute for Software Technology (IST), which has been established as a center of excellence for software technology.
Prof. Dr. Staab head the Institute for Web Science and Technologies, WeST.
