Project Description

The background for this project is the growing importance of knowledge and technology transfer from research facilities in economics, politics, and society.

For universities and non-university research entities, it is becoming increasingly important to discover at an early stage the innovation potential of research results and to systematically support the application of the results.

As part of the evaluating activities, the focus is increasingly on the effective measurement of the usefulness of research results.

However, there are still no valid approaches that can be used for a general, cross-institutional measurement and evaluation of research performance.

There is still a lack of reliable and adequate indicators that can address the specific circumstances of varying research institutions.

The presently available key performance indicators, such as licensing revenue, number of registered patents, etc., do not always fairly support a sustainable transfer success and can even be counterproductive.
