Lecture Course Description
Enterprise Information Management (EIM) encompasses the business and technology functions involved in the design and management of corporate information resources. The focus in this course is on the design of useful and useable digital information products and on the technologies and services to achieve this.
On completion of this course a good student will understand the range of user-centred design approaches and be able to apply them to the design of digital information products and services. Specifically students should be able to:
- select and apply appropriate methods for the design, development and management of digital information products
- take an holistic use-centred approach to information design and management that takes into account design, use and organisational requirements
- demonstrate an understanding of relevant information design and management theory and the limitations of such theory in practice
Students will gain experience in undertaking information needs analysis and designing a digital information service.
The course is a closely integrated lecture/seminar module and students are required to complete the full module in WS2017-18.
