IMPORTANT INFORMATION

TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS COURSE:

  1. Register for the  course in KLIPS. Students that intend to take the course Enterprise Information Management in SS2021 must be registered in KLIPS by Monday 12th April at the latestIf you cannot register in KLIPS send an E-Mail to Carolin Blankenberg (E-Mail Address see below) explaining your situation.
  2. Have a UniConnect account. If you do not have a UniConnect account please register for an account via the UniConnect Self Service using your University e-mail address (detailed instructions see here). All students enrolled for the course in KLIPS will be added to the community in UniConnect and receive further information about the course.
  3. The first lecture will take place in Zoom and all course participants must attend this lecture. Students who have correctly registered for the course will receive the Zoom meeting credentials in advance of this meeting.
Please note: During this course you are required to submit fortnightly assignments. The first submission is scheduled for the 30.04.2021.  Please make sure that you are enrolled in KLIPS and in an assignment group beforehand.

KLIPS

This course provides an integrated view of managing information across its entire lifecycle, from its creation, through organisation and use to its final archiving and/or destruction. Specific attention is paid to maximising the overall value of information within an organisation and meeting increasingly complex information compliance requirements.

  • Information Governance and compliance

Course entry requirements

This is a Bachelor course. The lecture and exercise course must be taken together in the same semester to complete the course module (6ECTS).

Note: To participate in this course in Summer Semester 2021 you must:

  1. Register in KLIPS before the first session
  2. Attend the first lecture session
  3. Create an account for UniConnect.
If you do not meet these requirements you will not be able to take the course in SS2021.

Credit points

Module (Lecture + Exercise) (4 SWS): 6 Credit Points

Course materials

All course materials will be placed in the course community in UniConnect. Please register in UniConnect in order to get an invitation to the community.

Note: All documents (slides, script, literature) will be in English.

Assessment Information

Note: The examination work is in English.

The assessment for this module is in two parts:

1. Group assignment comprising 5 work packages. The goal of the assessment is to evaluate and test a standard Enterprise Content Management System for a case study company. Each of the work packages addresses a different aspect of the evaluation cycle.

2. Individual assignment. Business Research Report.

Students must complete both assessment items to pass the module.

Each item will be graded out of 50 points and the combined total /100 points will determine the final module grade.
