Forschungspraktikum - Transmedia communication strategy for EoT Lab

In this FP, students will have the chance to rethink the current strategies of public communication of science. Students can explore novel communication channels and media to create a transmedia communication strategy for the EoT Lab.
Kick-off meeting: 22.10.2018 12:00 - 13:00 A119.

FP: Overview

In recent years there has been great interest in the public communication of science. That is, finding ways to communicate and share the findings of university research groups with the general public.

In this research practicum you will develop and implement a transmedia communication strategy for work of the EoT Lab.

The work has four main phases

  1. Review of the literature about best practices in science communication and transmedia communication  strategies. Deliverable: Preparation of a research report and presentation of key findings
  2. Analysis of EoT Lab and gathering of communication strategy requirements
  3. Development of transmedia communication strategy, content re-use strategy  and workflows
  4. Development and implementation of templates, prototype designs and evaluation of strategy in different communications channels (e.g. web, twitter, LinkedIn etc).

All students in the research team should be involved in all parts of the work – especially the first part on background research

There are also specific roles that  need to be filled.  You may not be an expert in these fields but the idea of a FP is that you can develop this expertise.

  • Project and communication  manager
  • Communication strategists
  • Requirements analysts
  • User experience designers/usability testers
  • Web designers
  • Other media – e.g. video, animation, etc.
  • The team will have to work closely together to deliver a good solution, therefore we advise you to form a team of people that you know you can work with

If you have already formed a team of 6-8 people who want to work together on this project, then contact us with a short overview of your team members and motivation for participating in this practicum.
