WELCOME TO THE IT- AND DATA SECURITY RESEARCH GROUP

The main focus of the working group is resilient network infrastructure including the assessment and handling of threats, vulnerabilities  and risks for existing IT infrastructures. Aspects are anomaly detection and mitigation and the use of machine learning in the context of networked system resilience.Dealing with threats includes the development, testing and use of security mechanisms in order to ensure the authenticity, data integrity, reliability and availability of the IT infrastructures. In particular, the group explores how the mechanisms are embedded in their operational infrastructures. One current research field is how resilience mechanisms (e.g. machine learning based methods) are themselves are the subject of manipulations and attacks.

Please note: The lectures of the Working Group will mainly take place online in the summer semester 2021, with certain events (e.g. internships and seminars) having presence elements where possible.
Further information on teaching during COVID will be announced accordingly by the university management.
