Welcome to the Research Group Information Systems and Smart Data
-
The research group Information Systems and Smart Data (Assistant Professor Riehle) deals with topics around the acquisition of data (sensor technology, Internet-of-Things), data management (IT infrastructures) as well as the analysis of corresponding data. Here, the focus is on design-oriented research, especially the development of prototypes.
We investigate how data from different sources can be merged, managed and processed. Data formats, interfaces and database management systems are of particular importance. In order to answer relevant business questions, we use formal, conceptual and technical methods that are suitable for investigating the storage and analysis of data. Within the scope of practical cooperations, we demonstrate our developed solutions in order to increase not only operational procedures (business processes), but also the quality and scope of provided data. As data is an important basis for business decisions, our solutions enable organizations to make better quality decisions.
