CEN WS/BII

CEN WS/BII
Period: Apr 01, 2013 - Oct 21, 2020
Status: laufend

The original BII workshop was concluded in December 2009, and its results were issued as CWA 16073:2010 (see www.cen.eu/cwa/bii/specs). In early 2010, a second Workshop – CEN WS/BII2 – was initiated to follow up on and improve the work created in the first workshop.

The purpose of the second phase of the workshop on Business Interoperability Interfaces for public procurement in Europe is to establish a forum for development and governance, by:

  • Providing technical support for adopters and implementers of the BII deliverables;
  • Providing a forum for governance, life cycle management and further refinements of the CWA published by CEN WS/BII;
  • Contributing to coordination and harmonization amongst European initiatives addressing various aspects of e-procurement;
  • Actively cooperating with the relevant organisations to ensure that European requirements are catered for in international standards and initiatives.

The results from the second phase of the BII initiative (CEN/WS BII2) were published in February 2013, as 5 CWAs (see http://www.cenbii.eu/deliverables/cen-bii-2/).

The CEN WS/BII 3 workshop will continue the work initiated by CEN WS/BII, and further refined under CEN WS/BII 2, to support interoperable electronic procurement and business (eProcurement and e-Business) solutions.

In order to achieve this, CEN WS/BII 3 has the objective to provide increased value to the CEN WS/BII user community, by:

  • Filling the gaps to ensure that all relevant aspects of eProcurement are covered
  • Facilitate increased use through capacity building
  • Securing the continued relevance of the BII deliverables by providing a focal point for governance and lifecycle management.
