Conservation program for threatend freshwater fish species, crayfish and mussels

___________________________________________________________________

This project aims to support the conversion of a former trout hatchery at Eußerthal owned by the Landesfischereiverband Pfalz e.V. into a facility for breeding threatend native nongame fish species as well as freshwater crayfish and mussles and to establish a scientific framework for prospective reintroductions of these species.
Currently the weatherfish (Misgurnus fossilis) was chosen as the first target species.
