- Trophic ecology of aquatic ecosystems
- Effects of (chemical) stressors (e.g. pesticides, nanoparticles, semiochemicals) in these environments

- Effects of antimicrobial compounds on aquatic macroinvertebrates via bottom-up regulation (AQUA-REG); funded by German Research Foundation
- Upper Rhine Trinational Graduate Academy Security-Risk-Orientation (SERIOR); funded by the European Union
