Conservation Genetics

Our team applies genetic and genomic methods as a tool to enable a better understanding and managing of natural populations, particularly with regard to biodiversity conservation, population dynamics and invasive species management. We also address research questions concerning evolutionary ecotoxicology, e.g., the influence of pesticides in agricultural landscapes on the natural population structure and species community compositions, using population genetics and metabarcoding. A specific focus lies on the investigation of the molecular mechanisms underlying the disease crayfish plague by use of transcriptomical data.
