Person
I graduated as Environmental Engineer from Santo Tomás University (Colombia), with a focus on environmental health and toxicology. My B.Sc. thesis was related to benthic macroinvertebrates as bioindicator of the water quality in a high mountain stream ecosystem. From 2018 I started my Master studies in Ecotoxicology at the University Koblenz-Landau (Germany). During this period, I have done two internships at EUROFINS MITOX in France.
Research project
Currently I am developing my master thesis in France with the same company. For this project, I am comparing three sampling methodologies in order to understand which is more appropriate to capture nocturnal flying insects that are relevant according to bats dietary principles, and which methodologies better exemplify a link between food composition (insects) and pesticide residues, after applications of fungicides in agricultural landscapes (vineyards and apple orchard). More information.
