Dr. Mira Kattwinkel
Research Interests
I am interested in assessing anthropogenic stressors, in particular toxicants like pesticides, in streams, and in understanding and predicting their ecological effects on populations and communities.
- Geostatistical tools to investigate water quality measurements (R package openSTARS)
- Dynamic, equation based and individual-based models of aquatic benthos communities to investigate the ecological effects of pesticides
- Bayesian inference for parameter estimation and uncertainty assessment
- Trait based biological indicators to assess potential environmental stressors in streams
- GIS-based models for exposure and effect estimation on large spatial scales
Teaching
- Modelling Human-Environment Interactions (M.Sc.)
- Modellierung in den Umweltwissenschaften (B.Sc.)
- Environmental Modelling II (M.Sc.)
- Introduction to R
