Research interests
My main interest is in the research and application of DNA-(meta)barcoding for the identification and detection of organisms and especially in the use of environmental DNA.
I studied biology at the Ruhr-University Bochum and received my master's degree in 2019. In my master thesis, I investigated the possibility of detecting the chytrid fungus Batrachochytrium salamandrivorans (Bsal), which is especially pathogenic for salamanders, via environmental DNA in water bodies.
Since 2020 I am at the University of Landau and work in the project Bio-TGW on the detection of biodiversity in groundwater using (environmental) DNA-metabarcoding and on the description of hydrological interactions with biological tracers.
