Welcome to our Faculty of Psychology

Situated in pretty Landau in the heart of Europe, close to Strasbourg, Frankfurt and Luxemburg, we offer Bachelor, Master, PhD programs and post-doctoral qualification, as well as training in Psychotherapy. Our research activities cover a broad range of topics, and we cooperate with various international partners. Student mobility is facilitated by ERASMUS+ agreements with universities in Southern and Northern European countries.

Reform of Psychology Bachelor and Master programs

2020: Due to legal changes with respect to the qualification for future psychotherapists in Germany, the Bachelor and Master programs in psychology are being adated. The reformed Bachelor program in Landau will start in winter semester 2020/21, the new Master program will follow when the first graduates may start their Master studies (Oct 2023/24).

Workshops and seminars - offered by students

Dec 2018: In cooperation with different partners we offer workshops and seminars in jan/feb 2019 – held by students of the master’s program in psychology.

Topis in 2019 are:

International expert meeting in Landau on applied systems analysis in University education

On June 11-12, 2018 international experts met in Landau for eliciting possiblities and ways of implementing the systems analysis approach into University education. The department of psychology is actively invloved.

"Merkel against Schulz" - results of a study on the TV debate 2017

The universities of Koblenz-Landau and Mainz have analyzed perception and effects of the TV debate between German Chancelor Angela Merkel (CDU) and her challenger Martin Schulz (SPD). Main result of the study with about 200 participants show: Martin Schulz has been able to closely win the debate and to catch up with Merkel concerning the question of preferences for a Chancelor. Federal state's price for excellent teaching for a lecturer of Landau's faculty of psychology

Dr. Nadine Thomas received the Rheinland Pfalz price for excellent teaching and can therefore be considered one of the best lecturers of this federal state.

Training in psychotherapy at the WiPP: Already starting in October!

Starting this year, in addition to the regular program commencing in April, it is also possible to enroll in this program in October. This should allow all graduates of psychology, irrespective of their date of graduation, to start the post-graduate program without much loss of time.  Flyer "Früher Start"
