MUnIE

Project description

The Moroccan Entrepreneurial University Initiative

As part of the DAAD pilot programme "Entrepreneurial Universities in Africa (EpU)", the project "The Moroccan Entrepreneurial University Initiative" (MUnIE) aims to reform the structures and offers of two Moroccan universities and adapt them to the needs of the labour market.

High unemployment among graduates is a major problem in many African countries. More practical relevance in teaching and research as well as a better labour market orientation of the universities as a whole could improve the situation. Many African universities are therefore very interested in establishing structures and offers that are geared to the labour market.

MUnIE addresses this situation with systematic, innovative and application-oriented approaches. The partner universities of the University of Koblenz-Landau (UKL) in Morocco are the Université EuroMed de Fès (UEMF) and the Institut Agronomique et Vétérinaire Hassan II (IAV) in Rabat.

Following the self-assessment of the Moroccan partner universities by HEInnovate, a self-assessment tool for Higher Education Institutions, concrete activities and measures are planned and implemented together with the Moroccan partner universities in accordance with the defined programme objectives. All activities serve to make Moroccan graduates more employable. In addition, contacts are established and intensified between Moroccan business and science. The networks and cooperations resulting from the project should lead to the establishment of a formal and sustainable economic-science network.
