ZIFET - “Entrepreneurial Design Thinking” Workshop in Danang, Vietnam

In the strategic long-term collaboration program between ZIFET and Da Nang city, Vietnam, it is ZIFET’s intention to spread the concept of “Entrepreneurial Design Thinking” over the central region in particular, and over the whole country of Vietnam in general. In order to raise awareness in the community about the Design Thinking methodology and how to apply it into Entrepreneurship field on the 29 January 2016 ZIFET & ED-School organized a workshop in “Entrepreneurial Design Thinking” at DNES office, Da Nang, Vietnam.

The workshop took place with hundreds of participants coming from various sectors such as the city authorities, local administrative departments, universities, institutes, enterprises, start-ups, medias etc. Based on the huge demand and interest in “How to apply Design Thinking in Entrepreneurship”, ZIFET and DNES continued the workshop in the afternoon to conduct a more practical, more argumentative workshop with 6 start-up groups in the Da Nang incubator.

The start-up teams were really different from each other - their ideas, their business models and the teams. Their potential products were interesting and demanding to the regional market such as organic cosmetics made out of coconut; children’s stroller with technical features like recognizing children’s demands; green household goods made of waste; mobile CRM applications for hotels and restaurants in Danang; a mobile application “Danang city guide with location-time-weather-based services”; and a Facebook page with support and orientation for high-school pupils to find a suitable job after finishing school. All groups had a chance to present their ideas to the audience, to receive feedback and to learn from our experts. Afterwards, they were guided to apply the methodology of “Design Thinking” in order to be even more innovative, creative, proactive and open-minded in figuring out their strengths and weaknesses as well as to think about more optimal solutions.

The workshops ended with satisfied participants and organizers and showed the potential of a promising cooperation in the very near future between ZIFET and DNES.
