Studienkolleg (Preparatory Course)

In case you cannot be directly admitted to a German university due to your qualifications, you will need to take the so-called assessment test (Feststellungsprüfung). Preparatory courses are offered at the Studienkolleg Mainz and Kaiserslautern.


What is the assessment test about?

The assessment test certifies that you fulfill the language requirements as well as the professional prerequisites for university-level study. Taking courses at the Studienkolleg allows you to prepare intensively for the test. After successfully passing the exam you can apply for admission at a university.


What level of German language skills is recquired?

You can apply for the Studienkolleg if you already have German language skills on a B2/C1 level. More information regarding the types of certificates that are acceptable can be found on the hompage of the respective Studienkolleg.


How do I apply for the Studienkolleg?
