Recognition of academic achievements

Information for students of the University Koblenz-Landau who completed a stay abroad for ERASMUS at a foreign university during their studies

All academic achievements that have been agreed upon in the Learning/Training Agreement must be recognized. The accreditation or recognition of study/training performance of students at the host institution or the host company can only be denied if the student does not meet the required academic/professional level demanded by the host university or the host company.

Note: The burden of proof for non-recognition of achievements rendered abroad is on the home university (see Lisbon Recognition Convention.). The decisive factor for academic recognition is the learning outcome, not the amount of time for subjects chosen during your stay.

By participating in the Erasmus program, the use of a Learning Agreement prior to the start of the study abroad is mandatory.

Before the start of the stay abroad

  • please clarify which courses you can attend and which achievements you want to accomplish during your stay abroad
  • talk to the responsible Erasmus-coordinator or the examination board for advice concerning the eligibility of achievements
  • arrange for a Learning Agreement and let it be signed by all participating parties

Upon your return:

  • submit your Transcript of Records after the stay abroad, indicating all the achievements you reached during your stay at the host university
  • seek recognition of the achievements
