Dr. Peter Ferdinand
Dr. Ferdinand manages the business of the Institute for Knowledge Media. He is also involved in the piloting of new e-learning methods and tools, research in current projects of the Institute and teaching.
His research focuses on competence-oriented teaching and learning, self-directed learning and personalized learning support. For details see overview of projects.
He received his doctorate with distinction with a study on a blended learning concept for self-directed learning using scientific freehand experiments. In 2007 he was awarded the Koblenz University Prize for his work.
He is a long-standing member of the steering committee of the Virtual Campus Rhineland-Palatinate (VCRP) and member of the working group for empirical educational research (AEPF) of the German Society for Educational Science (DGfE).
Since 2013 he has been a full member of the General Staff Council of the University of Koblenz-Landau.
