Online propaedeutic course for scientific wor

The knowledge and safe handling of the rules and the tools of scientific work form the basis for successful studies. The systematic acquisition of these skills is therefore of central importance. Against this background ProWiss is designed as an online preparatory course integrated into OLAT in which students are introduced to these basics in addition to their teaching.

The propaedeutic course begins with an introductory discussion of the characteristics of science and scientific knowledge and then focuses on central areas of scientific working techniques (citing, bibliography, literature research, writing a paper, thesis paper and seminar paper). The multimedia learning units conclude with tasks in which the contents of the respective topics are prepared once again. It is also possible to obtain specific feedback from tutors and to deepen individual topic blocks.

ProWiss has a pilot character for the university and can also be used by other courses of study in other departments. Thanks to implementation with widely used e-learning tools, content and structure can be adapted as required.
