Cooperation with Rwanda

The University of Koblenz-Landau and the University of Rwanda (formerly National University of Rwanda) have a university partnership since 1999. Since the partnership was established, good and stable cooperation has developed between Rwandan and German colleagues. The number of scientists involved at the University of Koblenz-Landau is constantly increasing.

In the course of well over one hundred research trips to Rwanda by university scientists, numerous courses and excursions for students at the partner university were held.

The state of Rhineland-Palatinate has been promoting and supporting the university partnership within the framework of the state partnership with Rwanda for many years and financed the construction of two project and guest houses in Butare in 1986, which are now managed by the University of Koblenz-Landau and serve as a research base for university staff.
