Informatik (Bachelor of Science)
The degree program in Informatik imparts insights into generally relevant fundamentals and methods of computer science as well as the ability to independently use this knowledge in connection with current IT technology and a wide range of areas of application. As a professional qualification, the degree gives you direct access to employment but is also a prerequisite for a subsequent Master’s degree program in Computer Science, Computer Visualization, E-government, Web Science or Business Informatics.
The degree program enables students to analyze complex correlations with clients and to methodically design and develop extensive software systems as part of an interdisciplinary team. Furthermore, important skills in relevant areas of application are conveyed in a minor subject (Economics, Business IT, Mathematics or Physics).
Computer scientists have access to a broad spectrum of interesting professions in business and research. Many other areas in addition to consulting, commerce, administration, industry and communication have close ties with computer science and information technology. There will be a huge demand for qualified computer scientists to work on software, hardware and management-related tasks well into the future.
The professional association BITKOM forecasts excellent job prospects for students currently beginning their degree program studies.
For the most part, the main medium of instruction is German. International students are required to submit proof of German language proficiency.
