The University of Koblenz-Landau is a young, medium-sized university. The university's academic profile is characterised by programmes in education, the humanities, cultural studies, the social sciences and natural sciences as well as computer science in Koblenz and psychology in Landau. These programmes form the basis of a diverse range of other programmes and continuing-education courses as well as of basic and applied research.

The faculties, within which related subjects are clustered, form the basic organisational pillars of the university. Teaching and research is undertaken in eight faculties, four of these are based in Koblenz, and the remaining four in Landau.

In addition to the various faculties, there are also institutions at the university which take on varying scientific and academic tasks or provide support to the academics. Further institutions offer a diverse range of services, for example to students and employees of the university or to schoolchildren and prospective students.

Many of the events organised by the university are open to the general public and anyone interested is welcome to attend. Selected lectures are also open to guest students who are not enrolled as students on our degree programmes.
