The corporate design of the University of Koblenz · Landau is used for the uniform design of all communication media. This is to ensure a uniform public image and public perception.

The sample templates provided here may only be used by university employees. Students are entitled to use the Power Point presentations in an academic context.

You can find photos for the design in the press photos or use the Colourbox offer.

Design guidelines

Please note that the layout of the sample designs may not be changed. That is why you will find corresponding design guidelines for each medium. which are mandatory. This is the only way to ensure a uniform appearance. The professional design program Adobe InDesign is necessary for the majority of the templates.

Use of the logo

The use of both the logo and lettering of the University of Koblenz-Landau is restricted solely to the university and its associated institutes. Students are entitled to use the logo if the logo is used to identify final theses. Any use by third parties outside the University of Koblenz-Landau requires prior written permission from the university!

Basic elements

Raleway is a Google font that can be downloaded free of charge. To download the font, click on the arrow at the top right of the Google page (above the page load graphic).

Click on the linked word "Raleway" to download and you will be taken to the official font page. Now click on "1 Family Selected" in the lower right area of ​​the browser and then on the download icon (arrow pointing downwards). A ZIP file with 18 typefaces will now be downloaded.

To install the font, open the downloaded ZIP file and extract the files it contains into a separate folder. The next step is to select all extracted files (18 font styles), right-click on them and select "Install". The font styles should now all be installed successfully.

These are the university’s official and binding color values:

  • CMYK for print: 100,70,10,10
  • HEX for web: #073f8b
  • RGB: 7/63/139
  • PANTONE 541 C
  • HKS 42

Use of the logo

The logo must always look the same in the interest of a uniform appearance and a standardized perception of the university. For this reason university employees are not permitted to change, modify or separate any of the elements.

An image of 72 dpi is more than sufficient for most applications in Word files, Word templates etc.

To save simply click on the image with the left button of your mouse and select “Save image as…”

The new updated campus maps of both locations can be accessed for use in print and online products. The campus map can be downloaded as a vector graphic, SVG or PDF file.

Letter template

The letter template provided is a Word template, i.e. double-clicking opens a new letter with your personal information.

The letter template may not be changed in the basic design. Font and style, colors, logo, arrangement and size of the elements must not be changed. You can find the font you need to edit the letter template under "Corporate Font Raleway" in the "Basic elements" section.

To adapt the personal information, such as name, telephone number, email address and institute, to the template for the first time, open the template in Word via "File"> "Open" and save it after editing the information. Then double-click on the template to create a new letter with your personal information.

Presentation templates

PowerPoint Master-Datei

The template is a master file. To change it - for instance, by replacing the image - click the View tab (if you are using Libre Office, click on Master first) and then on Slide Master. When you have finished, click on Close master view.

Templates for print products

Word-Vorlage

The file provided here is a Word template. When you double click on it, a new editable Word document opens.

Please do not open the file in Word using ‘File' > 'Open’ but only by double clicking on it.

You can to use the pre-defined format templates to create headings, lists and tables in the standard font Raleway and the specified font color.

The press department provides a design for your advertising measures for different leaflets with a spiral fold in the size Din long. The content of the file can only be adjusted with the editing program Adobe Indesign.

Postervorlage A2

Our Public Relations Department also offers poster designs for presentation purposes in the formats A0, A1 and A2. The corresponding design files can be modified using the program Adobe Indesign.

The following design rules must be followed:

  • The basic design of the template may not be changed. You can change: Text content, including headlines and sublines, images, contact addresses, social media links and links to a website.
  • Both the image in the header (currently it shows the Landau campus) and the two lower images can be replaced.
  • If you do not wish to add additional images, the lower image sections will automatically be suppressed so that you have more space for text.
  • Don’t forget to change the image credits accordingly (found at the right next to the two smaller images).
  • If you would like to use the images already integrated into the poster, you don’t have to do anything else. Please note, however, that both images may only be used within the context of the poster design.
  • Placement of your individual logo: You can add your logo to the poster below the text or to the lower left area where there are the small photos. The university logo must always be placed in the upper right section and it may not be modified. Similarly, the profile logo must be retained.

The press officer provides a design for invitation cards (with a reply card) for events such as graduation celebrations. The content of the file can be adjusted using the Adobe Indesign editing program.

Advertising products

The corresponding design files can be modified using the program Adobe Indesign.

The following design rules must be followed:

  • The basic design of the template must be retained. You can change: Text contents, headline, image, logos in the lower area, link to a website.
  • There is also a template for images with a dark background and images with a light background. Depending on the case, the header is either blue or white.
  • You have the option of changing the content underneath the image. In addition, it is possible to replace the list with continuous text and delete the blue subheading above the list.
  • Position your logo where the InterNano logo is currently present in the sample design.
  • In some cases, it will be necessary to include partner logos. You can replace the text above the logo ‘Unsere Partner’ with, for example ‘Gefördert von’ or ‘In freundlicher Zusammenarbeit’.  If you do not need to include partner logos, the text can simply be deleted.
  • The university logo must always be placed at the upper right. Your profile logo must always be always placed on the blue banner at the lower edge of the image. This may not be changed.
  • The university web address is always listed first. Then you can add your web address.
