Research and teaching takes place in four faculties on a modern campus in Koblenz-Metternich practically on the banks of the Moselle. The university’s academic profile is characterised by programmes in education, the humanities, cultural studies, the social sciences and natural sciences as well as computer science.

The programmes in education, social studies, natural and life sciences as well as psychology form the scientific foundation for teaching and research at the four faculties in Landau. The main campus is complemented by further university sites in the city of Landau.

The President’s Office in Mainz is the headquarters of the university management and the meeting place of the university’s central committees. Several of the departments of the central university administration are also located there.
