Getting to the university in Koblenz

The University in Koblenz is spread over two locations:

• the central campus in Koblenz Metternich (Universitätsstraße 1)
• the university administration in the city center (Emil-Schüller-Straße 12)

Arrival by public transport

By train: Get off at the main train station in Koblenz. For planning your travel, you can use the timetable provided by the Deutschen Bahn.

From the train station to campus Koblenz-Metternich:

The two bus stops closest to the university's campus are Uni/Winninger Str. and Universität.

From the central bus station (ZOB) at Koblenz main station the bus lines 3/13 (in direction Güls/Bisholder) and 4/14 (in direction Metternich Gewerbepark or in direction Rübenach Grabenstraße) offer regular service throughout the day.

From the train station to the university administration: Emil-Schüller-Straße 12 is located just a 5-minute walk away from the main train station.

Arrival by car to campus Koblenz-Metternich:

From the North and East:

Take the A3 to the Dernbacher Dreieck. Then join the A48 towards Koblenz. At the exit for Koblenz join the B9 in the direction of Koblenz. After about 4 km, take the exit Metternich, B 258. Continue in the direction of Metternich for a further 3 km. Then join the B 416 towards Güls. After a further 0.5 km, take the exit Metternich West, UNI and follow the signs.

From the South and West:

On the A61, take the exit Koblenz-Metternich. Turn left onto the highway towards Koblenz. After about 5 km, turn right on the B 258. About 1.5 km, join the B 416 towards Güls. After another 0.5 km, take the exit Metternich West, UNI and follow the signs.

Arrival by car to the University Administration

From the North and East:

Take the A3 to Dernbacher Dreieck. Then join the A48 towards Koblenz, Trier. Leave the A48 at the junction Koblenz-Nord and join the B 9 towards Koblenz. After about 7 km turn left into Moselring (B 49) and follow the road for another 460 m. Exit the Friedrich-Ebert-Ring (B 49) and turn right into Hohenzollernstraße. After 175 m, turn right into Emil-Schüller-Straße.

From the South and West:

On the A 61 exit at junction Koblenz / Waldesch and join the B 327. Leave the B327 at the exit Bonn, Boppard, Koblenz and join the B 9. After 2 km, you leave the B 9 and turn right onto the B 49. After 0.5 km turn right into Hohenzollernstraße and about 200 m further on turn right into Emil-Schüller-Straße.

Arrival by air

Frankfurt Airport (distance: approximately 115 km)

Terminal 1 is connected to the regional and inter-city train station. From the train station there is an hourly service to Koblenz. You will usually have to change trains in Mainz. The journey by train takes about 70 minutes. At the airport you will also find various car hire companies. By car your journey will take about 70 minutes.

Cologne-Bonn Airport (distance: approximately 100 km)
The regional and mainline train station is located directly at the airport. The journey to Koblenz takes about 80 minutes. At the airport you will also find various car hire companies. By car your journey will take about an hour.

Hahn Airport (distance approximately 65 km)
Frankfurt-Hahn Airport (about an hour's drive from Frankfurt and Koblenz) is mainly served by the airline Ryanair. At the airport you will find various car hire companies and there is also a regular shuttle bus to Koblenz.
