Family-friendly University

The university committed early on through a target agreement to numerous measures intended to make it easier for women and men at the university to reconcile professional occupation, study programme and academic career with raising a family or caring for relatives. In 2007, Koblenz-Landau was awarded the audit certificate for a family-friendly university that was subsequently renewed on a regular basis. However, as a part of its realignment strategy, the university decided in 2011 to relinquish certification and to channel the resources previously spent on auditing directly into its measures. It is expressly committed to continuously improving these measures to create a family-friendly university for all its members. In future this will include developing a stronger network of all of the committees involved in the implementation of these measures in order to merge, for example, the various advisory activities.
